Record labels usually fund the recording, mixing, and mastering of a musician’s work. They may also offer suggestions and advice during this time. Record labels are also responsible for managing distribution, promotion, and marketing, including creating music videos, organizing album releases, and planning tours with the help of publicists and managers.
Record companies often own the original recording and any sound recording rights but agree to pay the artist a percentage of net income or royalties. A 360-degree arrangement will see the record company receive a rate from all the ventures that the artist is involved in, such as movies, books, merchandise, etc.

Dialogue or Proclamation
ISTWhy do things often go wrong when you speak your heart out? Is it okay to be honest? There will always be differences of opinion because each person is unique. Why is it that sometimes there can be bitterness between two people when one person begins to express their thoughts that are quite different from the other? It is not the decision to express one’s opinion that causes the problem but the manner in which it is expressed. This can sometimes make one lose the meaning of the conversation. We can get carried away with our emotions when expressing our opinions. This leads to the conversation becoming more about proving our point than helping others understand. The closure is more of a declaration than an exchange of ideas. The other party to the conversation also closes their minds because they no longer get a new perspective on the situation but are told it is flawed. The discussion ends without a solution to the issue that was the reason for the conversation. We then question whether we made the right decision by sharing our feelings or if it would have been better if we had kept our thoughts private. One does not realize that our tone is the sole culprit in this chaos. You can disagree with someone and still have a composed calm conversation. There is no need to be aggressive to make your point. The other person will be more open to new ideas, as they know there is only a difference of opinion. This can be resolved by talking to each other, and both parties will respect the other’s point of view. Always remember that a coin has two sides, each with a different appearance. You can’t judge which side of the coin has a better image. Such a discussion aims to show the other party that, despite different viewpoints, it’s possible to reach a middle ground where both sides can express themselves while remaining united.

CUET entrance
The last year, my child has been studying for the CUET exams. He was very excited to sit for the exam today. He was confident that he would get 100 percent in the three subjects – Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics. What happened after he arrived at the NTA examination center in Noida Sector 64 was shocking. He had to wait half an hour to get into the center. It took 1 hour to move from one queue to another to verify his biometrics from Aadhaar. This verification does not breach the Supreme Court’s ruling that Aadhaar should only be used for state benefits.
When he was finally given a computer for his exam after a one-and-a-half-hour struggle, students were still settling in around him. There was chaos all around. Some students were yelling that their computers were not working. Others complained that their screens were blacked out. My child tried to concentrate but could not. The exam was only 60 minutes long, and passed in no time. The callousness and negligence of NTA may have ruined his exam, preparations, one year, and career. Media has reported on the chaos at CUET. But it was to no avail. The circus goes on. The media, primarily electronic and print, is not severe enough to bring this issue to the masses. Students and parents are not outraged because they don’t have access to a solution. It is a shame that NTA was allowed to wreak havoc on the future of our country.
