Throughout the ages every culture, tradition and religion has one common thread: the power of song. The singing voice is our most potent healing instrument…and yet in these days of radio, television and recorded music, it lays dormant. When was the last time you really opened your voice in joy and sang from your heart to the open sky and the stars?
It’s almost like having limbs and not using them. Many people have the idea that they can’t sing – an idea usually implanted at the most sensitive time of our lives – childhood. The result is an unconscious resistance to one of our most natural resources – making music ourselves. And what more beautiful way to make music than to sing our own song?
This gathering is for people who long to sing their own “YES!” to Life… to sing, “THANK YOU!” to Existence… to celebrate Love, and to open the door to their own Inner Peace. This can be done easily, by using the voice. By chanting ancient, sacred mantras, and Native American songs and dances we feel ourselves uplifted on the wings of harmony. We become aware of our voices melting with others, entering a world of undiluted bliss.
It doesn’t take much, just a willingness to let go into love, a willingness to drop the mind and dive into an ocean of sound. Here we experience the joy of being One with others, and with everything. We can feel it…because we are it!
No chanting or singing experience is required. There’s time to enjoy the natural surrounds of the Pacific Ocean, as well as the facilities at the venue, plus early morning Yoga.
South Ballina is situated 8 minutes south of Ballina (the nearest airport), and 25 minutes south of Byron Bay. The Gold Coast airport is 1.5 hours north, and Brisbane is about 3+ hours north. If booking flights or driving from Queensland to the venue in NSW, remember that NSW is one hour later than QLD at this time of the year. The retreat begins in the afternoon of the first day, and finishes midday on the last day.
Accommodation is either in private cabins, dorm cabins, or camping without power, and camping with power, just behind the dunes behind the beach.
